In the upcoming IPL 2024 match, Delhi Capitals (DC) will compete against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 56th match. DC is currently sixth in the points table with 10 points from 11 matches, while RR holds the second position.
A victory for RR could elevate them to the top spot. DC needs to win to sustain their playoff hopes, but a loss could revive the playoff chances for teams like Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB).
RR needs 52 runs from 24 balls. Samson is out. Shubham Dubey hits a six and a four off Khaleel's first two balls. But he then gets out caught by Tristan Stubbs at long on. Wicket! Shubham Dubey departs for 25 off 12 balls. Donnovan Ferreira is the new batsman. Two new batters at the crease. DC has a good chance to capitalize. Ferreira gets off the mark with a single through point.
109 needed off 48 balls. Rasikh goes for the slower ball and Sanju sends the ball flying over long on and lands the ball in the second tier of the stands. SIX. This ball helped Rasikh dismiss Parag but Sanju is a different beast. Some luck also going Sanju’s way as he manages to knick the next ball between Pant and short third for FOUR.
Ishant continues. FOUR! Samson is in top form today. Cuts the short ball with perfection at cover. FOUR! This a bad line from Ishant, and Samson punishes it appropriately. SIX! Samson ends the over with a maximum to take 15 off this over.
Chahal bowls his final over. DC's run rate is now 9.88. Gulbadin hits a boundary with a swat to midwicket for four. He takes a single to long off. Stubbs reverse sweeps for four as there's no protection on the off side. He repeats the shot for another boundary to square leg. Stubbs finishes with a six over deep backward square leg. Expensive over from Chahal, boosting DC's total.
Ravichandran Ashwin bowls his final over, maintaining a fuller length and restricting the runs. The batsmen, Gulbadin and Stubbs, focus on rotating the strike. Sanju, the wicketkeeper, praises Ashwin's performance. Only five runs come from the over. Ashwin concludes his spell with figures of 3/24 from 4 overs, an impressive effort. Strategic time out taken.
Porel takes a single on Riyan Parag’s second delivery, taking Delhi past the 100-run mark in the ninth over. Parag to Axar, SIX! Brilliant batting from Axar, who got down to his knees and got a good connection to hit a straight boundary. 11 off the over.
Samson brings Ashwin into the attack. Ashwin bowls to JFM, who is out caught by Ferreira at cover off a full toss. Shai Hope, the new batsman, gets off the mark with a single. Porel hits a six over mid-wicket. 9 runs and a wicket from this over.
Trent Boult bowls an inswinging delivery from around the wicket. McGurk flicks it for a double. Boult beats JFM twice before hitting him near the guard. McGurk is in pain and requires medical assistance. Boult concedes a boundary with an aerial off-drive. Six runs from the first over.

RR win toss, opt to bowl first
Sanju Samson: We would like to bowl first, looks a good a wicket to chase on. We are comfortable doing both. The environment in the team is what pleases me, we have great characters. Dhruv and Hetmyer are unavailable. Dubey and Donovan are in.
Rishabh Pant: Pitches this season are more batting friendly. Some injuries, health issues are there in the team but we don't focus on those things and we got to focus on the team and do our best. Ishant and Gulbadin come in.
