Another school to join the bandwagon for providing quality education to students of the city in keeping with international standards, has been set up. The school is named EuroSchool, a EuroKids undertaking having a network of 14 CBSE and ICSE schools across the country.

“The school will be affiliated to CBSE board and is essentially an Indian school with an international outlook. It will be situated in Thaltej with a campus spread of over 2.4 acres. The school’s opening will take place in June this year,” said Vikas Phadnis, trustee, director sales and marketing, EuroSchool.

He added, “The main aim of the school is to provide balanced learning and by this we mean that we will take the learning outside the class rooms and will teach the students by way of activities as well.”

The junior classes will have 15 students in each class while the high school will comprise of 30 students each. Teachers will have to undergo a rigorous training programme of 14 sessions before teaching the students.

The school has also made provisions for sporting activities within its campus. A space for games such as football and basketball has been earmarked. In addition to this, there will also be room for activities such as art and craft, dance and dramatics for which students’ participation will be encouraged.

“Every child has to go through two activities in every semester and they can choose the activity they want to be involved with,” said Phadnis.

The governing council head in charge of the curriculum of the school will consist of educationists from national and international examination boards.

Head of this department Andy Gray said, “We will have something called a ‘skills assessment session’ which is part of the admission procedure. It means that we will have an informal chat with the child on the skills he has learnt from the precious schools in which he studied.”

“If the child is found to be lacking in certain skills, the parents would be contacted by us and we will see to it that the child is enrolled for extra classes of learning,” he added.
