Retired Banglore police officer faces life threat

The retired assistant commissioner of the Bangalore police, BB Ashok Kumar is allegedly under threat and the central crime branch has registered the case and are investigating it.

BB Ashok Kumar, who is quite popular for his investigation techniques and the fact that several notorious criminals were nabbed while he was in office, is a known face.

The CCB were tipped about a plan being hatched to kill Ashok Kumar three days ago and investigators swung into action. DCP (crime), D Devaraja told DNA, “Yes, we have got information about two people who hatched a plan to kill the retired ACP, BB Ashok Kumar. We are verifying it and will take the necessary action.”

Incidentally, Ashok Kumar was not aware of the threat to his life, till he was informed by a public informant. When he enquired with the CCB police, he was told that they were not aware of such threat and hence they were not dealing with it.

“I immediately went to the IG, intelligence, Gopal Hosur, who then confirmed to me, that the CCB were in fact investigating a case of threat to my life,” Ashok Kumar told DNA.

“I am not aware of why these people want to kill me, but I am deeply thankful to the public informant, who has now at least given me a forewarning,” Kumar added.
