Israeli woman’s body found in Bangalore techie’s house

Software engineer Lokesh Chandrahas alias Chandrasekhar was horrified to learn that his mother-in-law had found the decomposing body of a woman in their apartment on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old immediately rushed to the city police commissioner’s office and surrendered.

The dead woman, Tamer Farha Abraham, 24, was an Israeli national and software engineer. She had been Chandrasekhar’s lover. She was killed at the latter’s residence at least 15 days ago.

The two had met when he had gone to Israel on an official trip. 

After his work in Israel ended, Chandrashekhar returned to Bangalore. A year ago, he married Jyothi Vaidyanathan, also a software engineer. The couple had a baby last month. Though Chandrashekhar had left Israel, Tamar could not forget him. The woman reached Bangalore on March 15, and went to her lover’s 11th floor residence at Mantri Tranquil, Gubbalala, within Talaghattapura police limits.

Tamar learnt of Chandrashekhar’s marriage only after reaching his residence. In a fit of rage, she assaulted her lover and his wife. Chandrashekhar reportedly told the police that he hit her head with an iron rod, killing her. He then came to city and purchased a coffin freezer for Rs24,000. He stuffed the freezer with ice before packing the body in. The family continued living in the apartment. Jyothi’s mother Bhuvaneshwari visited on Wednesday, and a foul smell led her to the coffin. She informed Talaghattapura police, and Chandrasekhar, who was at work. 

The accused was taken to his house. At the time of filing this report, the police were waiting for the ice to melt so that they could take the frozen body out. Investigators were also interrogating Jyothi.
