To generate awareness about it and train more experts in the procedure, a pioneer in the field Nova Medical Centre is organising a two-day national conference on ambulatory surgery in Bangalore.
It will be held on September 2 and 3. Dr MG Bhat, organising chairman of the conference and medical director of Nova Medical Centre, announced this at a press meet.
"He said they had explained the concept of ambulatory surgery and its benefits to the health secretary and the government was supporting the conference.
Bhat said the state government was sponsoring its doctors to take part in the conference so that the practice could be introduced in government hospitals too, even at district and taluk levels.
The conference will host more than 400 delegates from across the world. Bhat said it would host 30 doctors from the US, the UK and Gulf countries along with nurses, paramedical staff and representatives of a few companies that make healthcare equipments.
