Rap songs have become the latest trend in Bollywood, with actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh paving way and Akshay Kumar being the latest to join the list
Rap culture has evidently paved its way into B-Town. Ranveer Singh brught in the culture by turning rapper in his movie Gully Boy. The actor introduced the culture in cinema, and it was taken forward after Shah Rukh Khan also rapped in order to connect with Indian audiences prior to elections.
The latest man to add to the list is Akshay Kumar. Originally named Rajiv Bhatia, Akshay will soon record a rap song composed by Tanishk Bagchi. Director-producer duo Farhad Samjhi and Sajid Nadiadwala instantly loved the idea and convinced Akki to take the step.
“Farhad Samji, who was one of the directors of It’s Entertainment, had convinced Akshay to croon the title track of the comedy. This time too, it was his idea that Akki explores his rapping skills. While producer Sajid Nadiadwala jumped at the idea, the producer-director due then convinced their leading man to give his nod. The Tanishk Bagchi composition is yet to be recorded. The makers are yet to decide if it should be a solo track or one that sees him croon alongside Mika Singh,” a source told Mid-Day.

Director of Bole Chudiyan and Nawazuddin's brother Shamas Siddiqui said, "When I sounded him out, he was a little hesitant, but after some rehearsals with Kumaar and the composer duo, he got into the groove and now is excited to record for his first rap song."
