Priyanka Chopra to romance Salman Khan in Bharat

There has been much speculation about which film Priyanka Chopra will pick for her next Bollywood outing. Now, a casting coup will see PC sharing screen space with Salman Khan after a gap of 10 years. The two will unite for Bharat, which is being produced by Atul Agnihotri. Her last release was Jai Gangaajal, which hit the screens in 2016, and had her playing a tough cop.

Khan factor!

There was buzz that the actress would be cast opposite Aamir Khan when the latter was in talks for Salute. Well, looks like instead of Aamir, she has bagged a movie with another Khan — Salman. The two were cast opposite each other for the first time in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). Since then, they have also worked in Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love (2007) and God Tussi Great Ho (2008).

Calling the shots

Bharat is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who has become a Salman favourite after the two collaborated on Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). “Priyanka has also worked with Ali in Gunday (2014) and shares a good rapport with him. This film will see the three of them collaborate for the first time,” says a source. Apparently, Ali met PC in New York recently, where she was shooting for the next season of her international TV series Quantico. Bharat is expected to roll out mid-2018. Says a source, “The fact that their jodi is coming together after such a long time will surely be exciting news for their fans.”
