Rajasthan is a vibrant and colourful state in the country, known for its magnificent palaces and forts, its rich cultural heritage and places of worship. The state has been revered by tourists for many years and is the most preferred destination by international tourists. The natural resources, policy incentives, strategic location and infrastructure in the state are favourably suited for investments.

In the past decade, the state has seen rapid development due to reforms in the Power and Financial sector.  Rajasthan today ranks #6 in India on World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ index due to the various initiatives taken by the state government to facilitate businesses and start-ups. Introducing a ‘Single Window System’ for clearance of projects has also played its part in helping new businesses flourish in Rajasthan.

The state government has created a policy environment that nurtures private enterprise and makes investing in the Rajasthan profitable. In addition to a general package of financial incentives, sector-specific policies have been formulated to promote investment. This has led to an increase in investment by the corporate sector and has seen creation of jobs in Manufacturing, Renewables, Automotive, IT, Minerals and the Oil sector.

Rajasthan has now attained a unique position in the renewable energy sector. Thanks to its conducive geographical location and abundant resources of both wind and solar energy, the state is one of the leaders in tapping wind and solar energy for power generation.

To  harness the immense  potential  in  wind  energy, the government of Rajasthan issued  a dedicated   policy  for  wind  energy  in  February 2000. Since then, there has been no looking back in production of renewable energy.

The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) has been working relentlessly to implement the policy and promote renewable energy in state. It is also helping create awareness among people towards conservation of energy. This futuristic initiative has taken roots in the state and sows the seeds of a healthy green initiative for the betterment of our generations to come.

Suzlon Group, India’s largest renewable energy solutions provider with over 11.9 GW of installed capacity and global installation of 17.9 GW, is spread across 17 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and Americas.

It entered the state of Rajasthan in the year 2002. Suzlon is thankful to the state government for its support and proactive approach towards promoting clean and green energy. Over the years, Suzlon has commissioned over 2,000 MW of Wind energy projects and 60 MW of Solar energy projects for various investors. This has brought in investment of over Rs 16,000 crore in the state already.

Suzlon’s Jaisalmer wind farm has over 1,600 MW of installed capacity, making it Asia’s largest wind farm. We have also established a state-of-the-art Rotor Blade manufacturing unit in Jaisalmer. The future for renewable energy is very bright in state and we are committed to propel this growth  in the coming years.”
