The inspection report prepared by various land owning agencies on the sites designated for mohalla clinics had declared around 40 per cent of them as "non-feasible". Of the 460 sites inspected for the construction of the mohalla clinics in the Capital, 60 per cent of them were marked as feasible, said a senior Delhi government official.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had pulled up the authorities on Friday as he made a surprise visit to some of the sites declared as "non-feasible" by the officials and found them viable. Of the total 660 sites to be inspected for the construction of the mohalla clinics, the department had managed to complete the survey on around 460 sites till date.
"As per the report submitted to Chief Minister Kejriwal, around 250 sites had issues due to which the construction of the mohalla clinics couldn't take place. The officials, in the report, stated that many of the areas had high tension wires, some had underground water tanks, or utility services were coming in the middle of the way. The CM has now asked them to re-inspect the areas," said a senior Delhi government official.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in its 2018-2019 budget has proposed setting up of 1,000 such clinics in the national Capital. The government in its outcome report had alleged that Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal delayed the establishment of 1,000 mohalla clinics by nine months.
As per the timeline projected by the government this year, the joint survey by the PWD and the chief medical officers should have been completed by April 30. Last week, the CM had directed the officials to speed up the pending work on the mohalla clinics and submit a report by the end of the week. The decisions were announced after the Supreme Court in its verdict clipped the power of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal restricting his jurisdiction to land, police and public order.
