Jitender Gogi tops the Delhi Police's list of most wanted criminals. Amid the unending rivalry between the Gogi gang and their rival gang led by one Sunil alias Tillu, in the outskirts of Delhi, life for the members has often been cheaper than money. In the last one year, three men have lost their lives, in alleged revenge killings.
It was just last month when two men were shot and stabbed several times in Bankner Village near Rohini's Narela while a third youth was injured critically. The two deceased property dealers, Govind (25) and Satish (40), were suspected to be involved with the Jitender Gogi gang.
According to police sources, Gogi and his rival Tillu have been running extortion rackets in Alipur and Sonipat areas, which is the main cause of the feud between the two groups. The rivalry between Gogi and Tillu gang was sparked amid student politics in the Delhi University (DU). The dispute gradually took a nasty shape in 2012, when Gogi and his associates allegedly shot at one Vikas, a close associate of Tillu. Gogi was booked for this after which he went absconding. Both the gangs are involved in a number of cases of extortion, murders, attempt to murders and smuggling arms.
In 2015, Tillu was arrested by the Sonipat Police and was put behind bars. Presently, Tillu is lodged in Sonipat Jail. While Gogi was looking for a chance to hit back at Tillu, he was also nabbed by the Haryana Police from Sonipat and was later handed over to the Delhi Police.
In July 2016, Gogi had escaped from the custody of Delhi Police in Haryana's Bahadurgarh while being taken for a court hearing by the armed police guards. Since then, he has managed to be on the run. In September 2016, reward on Gogi's arrest was increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.
