She might look smokin’ but Beyonce Knowles has been slammed by anti-smoking groups in Australia for appearing in an ad for her world tour posing with an old-fashioned cigarette holder.

Australian organisation Quit recently sent letters to the country’s government seeking the ad’s removal from billboards and newspapers.

Action on Smoking and Health director John Banzhaf also slams the star, telling American publication Us Weekly, “The objection is to the association of glamour and sexiness with smoking. I hope Beyonce realises it’s wrong and condemns it.”

Teri’s aging gracefully

Teri Hatcher fears she is too old to be an actress. The ‘Desperate Housewives’ star has just sold a new TV show to a US network and is planning to grow old gracefully “behind the camera.”

Teri told Easy Living magazine, “I’ve just sold my first TV show to a network. It’s a comedy and it may never make it to air but it’s exciting to be behind the camera. I’m writing a book too! I’m trying to build a business that will allow me not to be in front of the camera, because, you know, I’m old!”

The 42-year-old, who plays Susan Mayer on the hit US TV show, recently admitted she was struggling to strike a balance between work, love and caring for her eight-year-old daughter Emerson Rose.

She said, “I’ll work a 14-hour day, four days in a row and feel like I’ve been run over. But I don’t call it tired, I call it, ‘Nothing is right, and I’m no good at my job and I’m horrible and no one will ever love me.’ This is a serial problem for mothers. We’re trying to be everything all the time. The best mom, the best worker, the best wife or the best dater. And it’s too much.”

Naomi’s mommy time

Liev Schreiber has confirmed he and girlfriend Naomi Watts are expecting their first child together. Watts sparked rumours she was pregnant after appearing on the red carpet at the Oscars with a noticeably fuller figure.

Schreiber appeared on US talk show ‘Late Night With Conan O’Brien’ where he confirmed the happy news saying, “I’m going to be a dad. When asked whether the couple had thought about any names he replied, “I’m trying to stay out of it all. I’m trying not to make any decisions. I find everything I try to do in service of her or the coming baby is wrong, I really don’t even go to my house much anymore.”

When O’Brien asked if they would consider passing the unique name Liev on to their offspring he added, “No, it’s a terrible name. It’s probably the most mis-pronounced name in all of show business. It’s bad enough that I have gone through that for 15 years.
There won’t be any Liev juniors. It’s not like George, you can call five kids George. You can’t really call anyone Liev!”

Manny-hungry Reese

Reese Witherspoon is set to seduce her children’s nanny — in a movie adaptation of hit novel ‘The Manny’. The actress, who is currently divorcing Ryan Phillippe, has been lined up as the top choice to play a married career woman who falls for her children’s male nanny.

Author Holly Pearson told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper, “I’d love to see Reese in the part. The lead character Jamie Whitefield is very successful but she’s very likeable too, and someone you can relate to.

Reese has those qualities. “What’s more, she’s just been through a marriage break-up and this makes her seem a little more vulnerable.” As for the part of the hunky manny? “He’s got to be smoking hot. Just like Brad Pitt in ‘Thelma and Louise’.”
