Did you know? Even Rajinikanth's '2.0' cast is clueless about the film's release date

Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 release has been getting delayed time and again. While the makers were planning to release the film on 27th April, Dhanush announced it as the release date for Rajini starrer 'Kaala Karikaalan' making fans wonder when the sci-fi will hit screens.  Meanwhile director Shankar has also announced  a film with Kamaal Haasan starrer ‘Indian 2'.

Reports suggested that ‘2.0’ might get Independence Day or Diwali release but as per Bollywood Life makers are eyeing for Diwali release which is already booked by Aamir Khan for his film 'Thugs Of Hindostan' which also stars Fatima Sana Sheikh, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. Two big film's clashing would obviously turn out to be disastrous for both the films. Bollywood Life sources said, ", “The makers want to release ‘2.0’ during Diwali, so they tried to discuss things with Aamir Khan as his movie ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is scheduled to release on the same day. However, Aamir said a resounding no when they first approached him. The actor feels Diwali is the perfect time to release ‘Thugs’ and hence, he is holding on to the date.”

While team Rajini and Aamir Khan's team are figuring out a way to avoid box-office clash on Diwali, actor Adil Hussain who is also a part of the film confessed that he is clueless about when the film will release. During an interaction with fans on Twitter, some one asked him about when 2.0 and he replied back tweeting,  “No idea.. Also it is a Faulty Statement to say my Movie. It's @superstarrajini 's movie. I am a part of it. We are all Dwarf in front of him.”

According to reports, post production work on 2.0 is still is still pending and that could be the reason for these delays.

Directed by Shankar, 2.0 is one of the most expensive films of India with a budget of whopping Rs 400 crore. Apart from Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson plays a pivotal role. Only time will tell when the film hits theatres.
