Bang Bang is still breaking box-office records, despite the poor reviews. The Hrithik Roshan magic is pulling the audiences into the theatres. The actor who made his debut in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai (2000) surprisingly has done very few films, compared to his contemporaries (see box).
Hrithik has been in the industry for 14 years and he has only done 21 films, including last Friday release Bang Bang! Among those films, nine have been big hits (not including Bang bang!) and three average earners. That's a fantastic record at the box-office. Even the Khan trio do not have that kind of success ratio, making him the most bankable actor!
Duggu has never spread himself too thin, that's perhaps why the audiences always throng to the theatres in big numbers. Going merely by the numbers, the light-eyed actor has done almost a film a year, which is largely considered a Aamir Khan model. Even though now most actors have started doing a film a year, at the beginning of their careers, everyone did three films a year, except Roshan Jr.
Ask him why he has done so few films, and he says, "I don't know. In my head, I am continuously working. My films usually take a lot of time. But it's not a conscious decision. In 2004, I didn't face the camera for an entire year. The three years before that, I drained myself out. I never took an off for a single day. It was only after Lakshya got over, I went for a vacation. I was empty. So I took that I had to fill myself. After coming back, I started working for my dad's next film."
