Katrina Kaif in Sonam Kapoor's chick flick

Sonam Kapoor has been quite vocal about her love for Katrina Kaif, so it’s only natural that she wants to work in a film with her. Girls just wanna have fun, remember? 

And when you are working with someone you like and admire, it’s a delight. And although the two actresses haven’t shared screen space, they have shared the same platform as brand ambassadors of a beauty brand. The two actresses also have a common foe — Deepika Padukone.   

Chick flicks usually have parallel leads. And we’ve learned that Sonam has approached Kat for her film, which she begins shooting for post-Battle For Bittora, which goes on floors early next year, and the latter is considering it. A source close to the actress reveals, “Katrina has just wrapped the first schedule of Baar Baar Dekho in Glasgow and she will now be sitting for a narration for the film. She always hears the narrations and then decides  whether to do the film or not.”

Buzz is, Anushka Sharma and Huma Qureshi, too, will be part of this film and it will be Rhea Kapoor’s first directorial venture.” 

Says a source from the production, “Rhea is planning it on a grand scale. But there’s no official confirmation on anyone except for Sonam who’s already on board.”

The Sonam-Kat files

Last year, Sonam went to Bigg Boss to promote her film Dolly Ki Doli and she was asked by host Salman Khan which actress she’d like to take out on a date, the actress was swift in replying, “Katrina Kaif!” 

At a brand event where both the actresses were present, Kat pointed out how she usually dresses casually like she’s “going to bed” as compared to Sonam who is always looking like she’s come from a red carpet event.

In an episode of Koffee with Karan, Sonam said this about Kat, “She is herself. She isn’t trying to be a fashion icon which is really cool.”

In an interview Sonam referred to Katrina as a friend, and said, “I admire her a lot. She has done a lot for her family and that’s very inspiring.”

When Katrina came on board of a beauty brand Sonam endorses, the latter said, “Katrina is a gorgeous girl who has a unique individual style that she embraces and highlights with panache.”
