The news of the sudden demise of Swedish DJ Avicii has left everyone in shock. From his family, friends, fans and even the bigwigs in music industry including David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Charlie Puth, Zedd, Rita Ora, Ryan Tedder are mourning the loss of 28 year old DJ.

His ex-girlfriend Emily Goldberg took to Instagram to bid adieu to the man she dated for two years.

She not just shared personal photos of the time spent with him, Emily also wrote a heartfelt post dedicated to Avicii. She wrote, "'Come on babe, don't give up on us. Choose me, and I'll show you love.' Those are the lyrics from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them," she began by writing.

"For the two years we were together, he was closest confidante, and my best friend. Now I can't look at Bear without knowing I'll never see his face again. I'm still collecting my thoughts and thank you all for the kind words and texts. Wake me up when it's all over, because I don't want it to be real."

She also posted screenshot of a text message exchanged between the two showing how much they loved each other at one point of time.

A statement from his publicist Diana Baron declared Avicii's death on Friday. The official statement read, "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," Billboard reported. "He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given," the statement added. 

The artist, known for songs such as 'Wake Me Up', 'Lonely Together', and 'Levels,' had retired from tours in 2016 due to health issues.
