The real reason why Rajinikanth's Kaala will NOT release in Karnataka revealed!

The trailer of Rajinikanth's next titled Kaala has created an online frenzy ever since the makers unveiled it on Monday. The Hindi version of Kaala trailer was also released on Tuesday and the fans have been going gaga on seeing Rajinikanth's gangster avatar. After watching the trailer, fans across the country are now waiting impatiently to watch the film  which is slated to release on June 7. But looks like Thalaiva's fans in Karnataka won't be able to watch Kaala at all since the film won't be released in the state. 

Why do we say so? Well, turns out that it has a connect with Rajinikanth's comment on the ongoing Cauvery water distribution issue. The didtributer of Rajinikanth's Kaala in Karnataka has stated that he won't be distributing the Pa Ranjith film in the state 'voluntarily' because of Rajinikanth's comments on the Cauvery water dispute. 

Reportedly, the South superstar had asked the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy to release the share of Cauvery water for the state of Tamil Nadu as per the directions of the Supreme Court. This led to massive protests for a ban on the film's release in Karnataka by several Kannada groups. The Karnataka Film Chambers held a meeting on Tuesday to take a call on whether Kaala should be released in the state or not and finally, they arrived at the conclusion that the film will not be released in Karnataka. 

In a statement, Sa Ra Govindu, President of Karnataka Fil Chamber of Commerce, stated, "Kannadigas are upset with Rajinikanth's comments on the Cauvery issue and so his film will not be released in Karnataka. As many as ten letters from various pro-Kannada groups have reached the Film Chamber, demanding a ban on Kaala in Karnataka. Considering the sentiments of Kannadigas, there is pressure on us to not release the film."

Kaala has been directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Dhanush. The film also stars Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi and is slated to hit the theatres on June 7.
