Samyukta Hornad and Sindhu Loknath will romance Digant in Lifeu Ishtene.

Sindhu Loknath
She’s wowed audiences with her strong portrayal in Parichaya. Sindhu Loknath is back this time with a “good role” that she felt eluded her so far. “I have had a gap between this film and Parichaya. I was busy with a reality show and one film each in Tamil, opposite Nanda that released this January, and Telugu, an untitled project opposite Teja that is still in the making. In fact, my second film in Tamil, opposite Atharva, the son of actor Murali, is also underway,” she says.

Sindhu says she knew that she would be doing this film for a long time. “I had previously done a short film with Pawan on the ill effects of smoking. He’d mentioned this project way back then and had told me that I’d be part of it,” she adds.

Talking about her role, she says, “I play a small town girl who comes to Bangalore for studies and is swept away by the lifestyle and ways of the people here. There’re a lot of interesting turns that follow. I loved the story.”

Samyukta Hornad
She’s no newcomer, as Samyukta Hornad is the daughter of Sudha Belawadi, a rather popular character artiste. “The ways of the film industry is hardly anything new. My parents and my grandmother have been a part of this industry,” she says.

Of her debut, she adds, “Everything just fell into place. I’d vacations just around the time they required my dates. Pawan Kumar is a good director. It is a Yogaraj Bhat production. And I get to act opposite Digant. My character in the film is very much like me in real life. There’s nothing I could say no to.”

Talking more about her role, she says, “It’s a contemporary role, which is girlie yet strong, vivacious and straight forward. I’m going to be extra comfortable on the sets as my mother will essay the role of my onscreen mother too.”

Samyukta, who has acted in many plays, says, “Theatre will always remain my passion. This is my first tryst with films, considering my previous appearance in Aa Dinagalu translated to just 30 seconds on the screen. I am yet to figure out if I like this medium. Though, if I do get roles that are as convincing as this one, I wouldn’t say no.”
