Amid the raging row between Pahlaj Nihalani and Anurag Kashyap over the upcoming Shahid Kapoor-starrer Udta Punjab, here is the list of cuts suggested by CBFC. The cuts suggested are under 13 categories.
But what is surprising is that apart from expletives and the reference to any place in Punjab, the CBFC has also asked for words like 'Election', 'MP', 'Party' from party worker, MLA, Parliament to be deleted.
The film has been given an 'A' rating as expected. Punjab, 'Harami', 'Chittave', other cuss words, close up shots of injecting drugs have been asked to be removed.
Coming out in support of Udta Punjab, which is embroiled in a major controversy over censorship, filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Anurag Kashyap on Tuesday alleged the board was intentionally delaying its clearance.
Earlier in the day, Pahlaj Nihalani had alleged that Anurag Kashyap was a sponsor of Aam Aadmi Party.
"I've heard Anurag Kashyap has taken money from AAP to show Punjab in bad light," Nihalani claimed.
The Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer movie delves into how the youth in Punjab have succumbed to drugs. The movie slated to release on June 17 is likely to get delayed.
