Why is Karan Johar silent about the clash between Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn's Shivaay?

They're were known to be good friends but off late, rumour mills have been buzzing with tales of Karan Johar and Kajol's friendship gone sour, courtesy her husband Ajay Devgn. The Bong beauty isn't jubilant that her buddy has decided to release his next, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on October 28, to clash with her hubby's ambitious film Shivaay. However, it was Devgn who chose to have a Diwali first and then KJo followed. In this battle of the two films, Kajol has picked husband Ajay's side and made her comeback on social media by sharing the poster of Shivaay.

Sources in the industry say that the two aren't friends anymore since the actress did not wish her director friend on his 44th birthday this year. KJo is unhappy about the split in the friendship but prefers to stay mum about it. When asked about the upcoming Diwali release clash, a couple of days ago at a media interaction, Johar chose not to comment. “Before the event began, Karan had made it clear that he would give interviews only with Manish Paul [host of a dance reality show that he judges] by his side. He was probably expecting questions about the release date clash, and when the question was posed to him, he simply nodded. When there is no answer, there is no controversy,” a source told a tabloid.

Speaking on the impending clash, Devgn was earlier quoted as saying, “It’s a close-knit industry and whatever issues we have with each other we should sort amongst ourselves and not harm each other’s work. But everybody wants a great release date, so they have the right to choose any date for their film. If I take it personally, it will upset me, but if I look at it from a business point of view, then it’s fair enough.”
