A reason to pray

The entire Shetty family — papa Surendra, mummy Sunanda and daughters Shilpa and Shamita, along with Shilpa’s fiance Raj Kundra — went pandal hopping in the city seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

While Shilpa herself flew off to Chennai immediately after and is slated to visit the Oneness University in Varanasi for a spiritual session, Shamita said it was a wonderful family outing.

“This year we went to three Ganesh mandals. This year Raj decided to accompany us as well and it was fun. When we came out, everybody asked us ‘aapne mannat kya mangi’. Both of Shilpa and me were at pains to explain that we are not supposed to reveal our mannats,” Shamita told DNA.

But there is clearly lots to pray for. Speculation about the timing of Shilpa and Raj’s wedding is finally clearer. Surendra Shetty has sought his passport back from a court in Delhi currently hearing the case filed against him.

In the application, Surendra said he wanted to travel to Britain to attend his daughter’s marriage that will take place anytime between September and the end of December this year. Shilpa and Raj themselves could do with some divine blessings as they have invested nearly £10 million for a stake in 20-20 cricket team Rajasthan Royals and a food company.
