Arjun Rampal: Cannes bound?

Making red carpet appearances for foreign film festivals seems to be the order of the day. And topping the list of such festivals to be seen at is definitely the upcoming annual event at Cannes. And if sources are to be believed then actor Arjun Rampal is one of the Bollywood celebs gearing up to walk the red carpet there this time around.

“The Cannes International Film Festival takes place in May every year. Arjun just signed up with a brand that takes Bolly celebs to the event every year. The brand in question likes to take a film personality with a designer to represent them there. In the past they’ve taken actors like Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan there. Once actor Rani Mukherji and designer Sabyasachi Mukherji were to go to Cannes on their behalf but Rani opted out at the last minute because her dad was not keeping well,” says the source also revealing that Arjun will be accompanied by designer Rohit Bal.

Though Arjun remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press, his representatives confirmed the development. “That is the plan as of now. But it all boils down to Arjun’s shooting schedules which are very hectic and packed for the next few months. Arjun very much wants to go so he’s trying to work it out,” informs the representative.

alking about what designs Rohit has in mind for the actor, the source reveals, “Dressing a guy up is very tricky because you don’t want to make him look too flamboyant or plain at the same time. Rohit is keen that Arjun don something striking, yet simple, maybe an ensemble with the designers signature cuts. They’ve not yet decided if Arjun should wear Indian or a Western outfit either. That should be finalised as the date nears.”
