Bending it like the Boys...

Band of Boys came in as a breath of fresh air in the Indian pop scene as the first all-boy band. And indeed the lead singer of the band grabbed almost everyone’s attention with his baritone voice and childlike charm.

“The journey has been fantastic,” says Karan Oberoi in retrospection of the band’s progress. “It is like a reinvention of the band — from boys to men,” he adds.

The band has now gotten into direction as well. “We are currently working on the music for two Bollywood movies, one of them being Welcome to Sada Adda,” reveals Oberoi.

“In between live concerts, we gave all our time into our new single Friday Night.” The band’s new album, which would be out soon, will be their third. “It took us a good four years to come up with it, which definitely makes it special,” he informs.

“I am also building up my acting career,” reveals Oberoi. “You shall see me in films this year,” promises the singer, who has two Bollywood projects in hand.

The band was last in news for the John Travolta starrer From Paris with Love for which they composed a song and hence became the first Indian band to sing for a Hollywood film.

“It helped us garner some big projects and get into direction; people liked our composition in From Paris...,” he explains.

Even though the silver screen seems to have caught his attention these days, he promises that the band will continue to entertain its fans with several live shows.
