Changing tracks

Veejay-turned-actors Ranvijay and Aditya are ready to plunge head-on in Bollywood.

Changing tracks

It’s been seven years since Ranvijay won the TV reality show Roadies and then turned veejay. Now, a year after his debut movie Toss was tossed out of the box-office, Ranvijay still hasn’t been able to figure out how to strike a balance between his Bollywood career and veejaying.

The story of Aditya, another veejay, is not really different except for the fact that he is ready to devote all his time to films and has kept his career as a veejay completely on hold for now.

Ranvijay said, “I have finished shooting three films. But I don’t want to leave veejaying. I saw how Cyrus Broacha carved a niche for himself even while being a veejay. I still think that I will still be able to sustain and juggle both the careers. The only problem of being associated with a reality show is that you are shooting all the time. So if you are taking up movie assignments simultaneously then you are pushing yourself a bit too much. But honestly, when you start getting movie offers, they seem too tempting to let go. I couldn’t let them slip off.”

For Aditya, life was one roller-coaster ride in college till he decided to give up veejaying and wait for his movie debut. Aditya stars in the just-released Salman Khan-Ajay Devgn starrer, in which he and Ranvijay play band-members.

Speaking about his stint as a veejay, Aditya said, “I was recommended by a friend to the music channel. I came down, did some antics in front of the mike and got selected. But now I’ve kept my career as a veejay on hold. I am trying out my luck in Bollywood and just hope that the new assignments work out.”
