Films are known to get into controversies whenever they shoot at historical and even religious places. One can never forget the case of London Dreams as reportedly Vipul Shah was fined a hefty amount when wine fell over a Queen Victoria painting housed at an English museum.

But for Priyadarshan’s forthcoming movie starring Akshay Kumar, the actor made it sure that they steer clear of controversies. He and Priyadarshan gave standing orders to the entire cast and crew who were shooting at a Ram Mandir at Satara to always leave their shoes outside. They even cleaned the temple after they packed up shooting.

Ram Mandir has always been a very sensitive issue in Indian history and politics as the demolition of Babri Masjid by Kar Sevaks, a radical Hindu outfit, resulted in nationwide riots between Hindus and Muslims. Akki wanted to be sure that the film does not face any embarrassment. India is touchy about religion and they didn’t want to upset any community.

A source says, “Akshay Kumar and Bollywood debutante Trisha shot a song in the famous Ram Mandir in Phaltan, Satara. The song Sajde Kiye is a lovely romantic track. According to the actress Trisha, the song is a beautifully written love duet that is shot in a very different way. What also adds to the beauty of the song is the pious location.”

The informer adds, “The cast and crew earnestly abided by all the rules of the temple. There was no footwear allowed, the clothes were decent and shor sharaaba was kept to a minimum.”
