Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani have been friends for a decade

In an industry that hardly sees partnerships stand the test of time, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have been thick for over a decade now.

Once novices, now they are big industry players with their production company having already made a niche and a prominent mark on the Bollywood map by dishing out some great quality content.

While Farhan has always got the spotlight for directing and now acting, Ritesh loves being in the background ably manning resources and finances that has formed the backbone of the company.

Ritesh says: “I think we have a perfect chemistry. We don’t have egos and we have a very open mind to each   other’s inputs. Every decision that the company takes is always a joint one and once the decision is made, there’s no blame game if it back-fires.  We don’t spend much time looking behind. This is what has made us remain thick as ever. We have both seen each other grow, make mistakes and learn from it. When we started out to make Dil Chahta Hai, I was clueless about production and Farhan too was a first-time director. But the experience we got hands on while making Dil Chahta Hai was invaluable.”

Now an ace producer having funded movies like Lakshya, Don, Rock On!!, Luck By Chance among others, Ritesh adds: “We have taken baby steps to find our niche but I think people believe in us now to deliver quality. They know that we cannot make mindless movies that people will out-and-out hate.  We are not into producing only quantity game. Both Farhan and I don’t approve. We believe that if we are pushed we might compromise on quality and we don’t want that to happen. Farhan and I think that same way about movies. We like the same kind of cinema. So, movie-making with him has been fun.”
