The world’s most prestigious wildlife and environmental film festival, the Wildscreen Film Festival, will be held in Pune on February 17-18 at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and the British Council Library (BCL).

The festival is being held by the FTII and the BCL as part of the ongoing Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival. “This festival intends to encourage budding and young film-makers to make films on nature. This time we are aiming at a larger audience as various kinds of films will be screened at the
festival,” said Kajari Mitra, manager at BCL.

The festival comprises master classes on various aspects of film-making, besides screening of international wildlife and environmental films along with award winning entries. Harry Marshall, Janet Vissering, Laura Marshall and Nicola Reeves are the four environmental film-makers from the UK, who will be in Pune to lead the master classes.

On day one, there will be a master class on trends in environmental and wildlife film-making by Nicola Reeves, while on the second day a lecture on scriptwriting by Harry Marshall will be held.
