Today’s the annual Mumbai Marathon. Along with people from all walks of life will be Bollywood, running to fulfill someone’s dream. After Hrs takes a look at a few celebs, who are the front-runners, every year.

Here’s to a dream run, Mumbai!

Over 38000 people, including celebrities, corporates and ordinary Mumbaikars have participated in the marathon this year. A lot of Bollywood stars have already signed up for the Marathon, some of whom are Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor. Joining them would be others like Ranbir Kapoor, Chitrangada Singh, Gul Panag, Milind Soman and many more alike. NGOs like Mizwan run by Shabana Azmi has a lot of celebrities who will run for the NGO.

Tara Sharma Saluja
The actor has been running the marathon, ever since its inception. She has just missed it for two years when she was pregnant. “I am supporting a cause very close to my heart. I am running for the Cancer Patients Aid Association. It is a fantastic event that brings the entire city together. I am a fitness freak and I walk for 30 minutes every day so I haven’t specially trained for the run. I am doing the 6 km dream run. This time, my husband and kids will be there to cheer for me. Go Mumbai.”

Shazahn Padamsee

The petite actor is running for Shabana Azmi’s foundation, Mizwan. “I’m representing Shabana Azmi’s charity Mijwan. She is a close family friend and I will do anything for her. I’m always working out. Sometimes even twice a day with weights, cardio and kickboxing, so I’m pretty fit for the marathon,”she said.

Chitrangda Singh
The Delhi girl who has recently shifted base to Mumbai will be taking part in the marathon for the first time. Chitrangda has lways been inclined towards sports, especially because her busand, Jyoti Randhawa is a professional golfer. Talking about her dream run, she says, “I have always been interested in sports. I am happy to be supporting an event like this. Run Mumbai.”

 John Abraham
John, the brand ambassador for Mumbai marathon, doesn’t run every year as he has to be on the podium to cheer the scores who participate. He makes up for it by running 21 kms (half marathon) on the treadmill. Talking about it, he says, “I always encourage any kind of sport because it really helps you stay fit. More so, when it is for a cause. It is a brilliant initiative and I support it wholeheartedly”, the actor said.
 
 Rahul Bose
The ex rugby player has been consistently running the marathon, ever since its inception. He says, “This time, I’m running for the marathon for my own foundation, The Foundation. I don’t really practice for the marathon; I’m mostly in decent shape inshallah. I run for roughly about 10 kilometres once a week. I’m usually practicing different sports each day of the week. So I play badminton one day, squash another day, then basketball, go to the gym once a week and so on. I am totally looking forward to it.”
