I am very, very happy: Kajol

Bollywood has joined hands with the rest of the country to celebrate the Padma awards which have come as an unexpected surprise to the  six winners from B-Town.

Actress Kajol, inform close friends, was speechless for a few seconds when she first came to know that she has been awarded a Padma Shri. Hubby and actor Ajay Devgn’s phone was soon inundated with congratulatory messages from his well-wishers.

“It’s an honour and a pleasure when you are selected for the Padma Shri and I thank all those who thought me worthy of it,” says Kajol in a text sent to DNA.

Of course, this doesn’t change anything regarding Kajol who has already taken a semi-retirement from films. “I am very, very happy with the way this year has started,” she added.

Meanwhile, actor Irrfan Khan who is currently shooting for the next Spiderman movie in Los Angeles was thrilled with the award. “It’s an overwhelming experience for me. An actor always acts without thinking about the accolades that he will receive but awards like these are a great shot in the arm — a motivation for you to go ahead and perform even better in the days to come,” said Irrfan through his manager.

It was the same for yesteryear star Waheeda Rahman and singer Usha Uthup. “When I first heard the news I was like a zombie for a few seconds,” the singer told the media .
