I have a contract in place: Abhishek Kapoor

Just back after receiving his National Award, director Abhishek Kapoor is concentrating full-time on his next project which is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel, The 3 Mistakes of My Life.

But isn’t he aware of the ugly spat between Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Chetan Bhagat regarding the credit of the script of 3 Idiots?
“Yes, I have a contract in place with Chetan. But I think that there’s nothing in this world that is called a fool-proof contract. If somebody wants to eke out a flaw in a contract, he can. But I don’t think that I am going to have any issues with Chetan (Bhagat) on the matter,” says Abhishek who recently in Delhi  met James Cameron.

“It was such a wonderful interaction with James. I also discussed a film script with him. Though the valuable suggestions that I got from him cannot be discussed at this point, but I surely realised how much he is aware about the Indian culture and traditions,” he added.

Abhishek says that he is trying to retain the old team of Rock On for his next project.“More or less everybody who was there in the earlier project is there in the next. Including my co-script writer Pubali Chaudhuri,” Abhishek says.

Well, the last question is about his little known relationship with his well-known cousin, Ekta Kapoor. “Yes, she is a wonderful person and I am very proud of her. We have discussed a few projects but we haven’t been able to finalise anything,” he ends.
