It’s all about the car, says Gautam Singhania

Business tycoon Gautam Singhania, the brain behind his popular super car show, never misses a chance to amaze Mumbaikars when it comes to offering a glimpse into the opulent world of automobile marvels.

The third edition of the car show saw mean machines like Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Bentleys and Rolls-Royces rattle and hum their powerful engines, much to the delight of car enthusiasts.

Talking about the show Singhania says, “Cars have been my childhood passion. When we flagged off the show in 2009, we figured that the interest in super cars was largely driven by individual passion. Today, more and more super car owners are coming forward to participate in such shows. Also, there’s a larger group of auto enthusiasts that tracks the shows. This growing interest for super cars in India is also reflected in the increasing number of super car manufacturers entering the country.”

So is there any particular car that is on his wish list? “No, not really. As of now there’s nothing that I’m eyeing to own.” Ask him how he’d sum up his experience of driving an F1 car and

Singhania grins, “F1 cars are very special and extremely powerful. Riding them is a dream come true for any car enthusiast.”

Would he consider starting a movement to get a racing track and better roads suited for these mean machines? “A new dirt track has come up in Khopoli and I hope roads get better in Mumbai as well, so we can enjoy driving our cars without much worry.” Singhania concludes.
