Jacqueline copies Sridevi

It takes a great deal of talent to imitate dancing queen Sridevi’s dance moves and we hear actor Jacqueline Fernandez had the guts to do exactly that in her recently released movie. The former beauty queen danced to the tunes of Sridevi’s hit Hindi movie Naagin in the Riteish Deshmukh starrer. But it wasn’t all that easy for Jackie to emulate the act as she had to see Sridevi’s moves almost 20 times before she attempted to shoot it.

A highly placed source close to the development says: “Jacqueline plays an alien who comes to earth to discover love and meets Riteish. There is a scene in the movie that had Jacqueline dancing to the tunes of Sridevi’s Naagin. Jacqueline was very excited that she would get to do dance steps that Sridevi excelled in. But it wasn’t too easy for her.”

The source adds: “In this scene Jacqueline watches TV and imitates whatever she sees on television. Hence she begins with a perfect copy of Sridevi’s song from Naagin. Then she follows it up with Dharamendra’s song Jat Amla Pagla Deewana and Sunny Deol’s Yaara O Yaara. However, the actor had to see these clips over some 20 times to be able to enact them.”

Jacqueline says laughing: “Yes, doing that scene was fun actually. I had to see them over and over again to be able to do my scene. These songs are iconic and thankfully I didn’t have to be perfect with my steps. I love Sridevi and have watched her films. She is gorgeous and what great performances she has delivered.”
