Jennifer Hawkins bares all on nude mag photoshoot controversy

Australian beauty Jennifer Hawkins has broken her silence following criticism that she was being presented as a pin-up girl for women with poor body image issues, after she posed nude for a women's magazine.

Fashion magazine Marie Claire had avoided any digital enhancing to the former Miss Universe's picture that featured on its cover. The picture showed tiny blemishes and even a dimple in a thigh.

However, Hawkins has clarified that she only meant to promote a healthy lifestyle, as she did the shoot to help Butterfly Foundation, an organisation promoting healthy lifestyle.

"I don't see myself as a poster girl for body image," News.com.au quoted her as telling Confidential.

Meanwhile, Hawkins clarified the reason she did not inform Bernie Brookes, boss of her chief employer Myer, about the shoot.

She said, "I didn't do this for PR - I did it to raise awareness for the Butterfly Foundation which helps men and women with eating disorders. But you wouldn't know that because it has hardly been mentioned - and I had no idea that what was a good intention to promote healthy eating and lifestyle could snowball out of control as it has. My relationship with Myer is as strong as it ever has been, but in hindsight maybe I should have told them - but I thought it was just like any other cover shoot."
