Kiss and tell

Watch out because the pranksters are on the prowl! Model-turned-item girl-turned-actor Nandini Jumani plays the role of a singer in Yunus Sejawal’s directorial debut titled Benny and Babloo. The film’s storyline revolves around the comparison between dance bars and five star hotels in Mumbai.

What’s interesting about shooting for this movie is that there were quite a few pranks played on people on the sets. One such was on Nandini. She recalls, “On the last day of the shoot, my co-stars Ruksaar (who has previously starred in Sarkar and D Company) and Anita Hasnandani told me there is a kissing scene that everybody had to do, including me even though I play the role of a singer in the movie. I was very scared because I was not informed about it earlier. I wasn’t open to the idea of kissing a customer at the dance bar. It wasn’t even the hero! To clear my confusion, I went to producer Umesh Chauhan to ask him if I really had to do the kissing scene. Later I got to know that it was a prank being played on me. Nobody had shot for the kissing scene, but the other dance bar girls acted as if they had kissed and that’s why their lipstick was rubbed off their lips.”

She claims that she was even told that if she did a kissing scene, it would look hot and might have become one of the major reasons to draw a lot of crowd to watch this movie.

Elaborating on the storyline of the film, Nandini says, “It’s illegal to dance in a dance bar though singers still continue to sing along with the orchestra at these bars in India. That has been portrayed in the movie and so has the drug dealing and pick-up joints in five star hotels.” There’s a lot we’ll get to know after watching the film!
