Lara Dutta’s loss is Preity Zinta's gain?

Actress Priety Zinta is is all set to host a TV show.

Bollywood’s dimpled lass, will be hosting a new show called Guinness World Records — Ab India Todega very soon.

According to the channel spokespersons, they zeroed in on Preity as they thought she echoed the concept of the show and represents the spirit of new India which is willing to take on the world.

But if sources are to be believed, Preity wasn’t the only one who was being pursued to host the show. Apparently, actress Lara Dutta was also offered the show as Priety initially had someprior commitments and was trying to work out her dates.

But Lara, says the source, asked for an exorbitant fee to host the show.

The source says, “Priety was the first choice but due to some date issues, Lara was also approached. However, Lara quoted a very high price and the channel couldn’t go ahead with the deal. Preity has worked out her schedule and has started shooting for the promos as well.”

If the grapevine is to be believed, Lara apparently demanded a sum that was higher than what some other A-listers were being offered to descend on the small screen. But as luck had it, Preity worked out on her dates as she was very keen on doing TV. Maybe Lara will have to wait for some more time before doing her television stint.
