TV actor Sayantani Ghosh still the snake charmer

Even now when somebody spots Sayantani Ghosh in public, they call her a snake. Well, before you draw conclusions about how she is, let me remind you that she became famous by playing the character of the mythical snake (Naginn) on Zee TV. Ever since, the character has become her.

“It is true that some people still call me Naginn. It definitely feels funny because I am long done with playing the character and the serial has been taken off air too. But somehow the character of the snake has just stuck with me,” says Sayantani.

Ask the actor, what took her so long to come out in public and she says, “I went down South. Enrolled myself into a meditation course and got myself a brand new portfolio. I am working out also to get a fitter body. Because I was a Bengali actor before I came to Mumbai so I decided to do a couple of Bengali movies with Prasenjit (a Bengali star) in Kolkata. It was much needed break that I took. And now I am back,” says Sayantani.

“I am in talks with Zee and we are working on a serial,” she says. “I don’t want to do any random film role. Everybody wants to do a good role.”
