We love belonging: Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan

Actor Abhishek Bachchan was only too happy to accompany his wife Aishwarya to a sports meet that was organised to renew the ties of the Bunt community in Bollywood.

Bunt or Tulunad Kshatriya is a Hindu community that belongs to the region of Tulu Nadu in the southwestern part of the country, which comprises the districts including Udupi and Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka.

A thrilled Aishwarya was delighted to speak with the audience in Tulu which is the spoken language of the Bunt community. The actor, glad to connect with her roots, was visibly overwhelmed when she was handed over the mike. “The community has come from all over the world, and I think it’s wonderful that we have functions such as these throughout the year. We, as members of the community, have absolute pride and pleasure in participating albeit in this brief manner but definitely the community knows that we are here,” said Aishwarya.

The actor also urged her community to organise more such events and programmes where everyone could bond together.

“We love belonging. We are all family and it’s a pleasure being supportive and sharing such special moments. So, thank you so much for making it as memorable for us, for all your love and blessings,” she added.

The Bunts Sangh organises a sports meet every year in Powai. This year also more than 5,000 people came from different countries to participate in this event. The actors were the chief guests for the event. Cricketer Javagal Srinath was also a part of the celebrations.
