The Congress has received a major jolt in the Hadauti region too. The ruling party managed to win only single seat out of total 17 falling in Kota, Baran, Jhalawar and Bundi districts. Rest 16 seats won by the BJP setting up a new record. It is the worst performance of the Congress as party was at 10 and BJP with seven in the 2008 tally.
The Congress had appointed Shanti Dhariwal as man-in-charge of region for distribution of tickets and increasing seats this time. But, he could not save even his own seat from Kota North.
He, despite tall claims of development, lost badly to BJP’s Prahlad Gunjal with a margin of 14,861.
Another party stalwart Bharat Singh Kundanpur lost from Sangod. All six seats of Kota district have won by the BJP. Om Birla and Bhawani Singh Rajawat repeated victory with huge margins here.
Political disciple of Dhariwal, Pramod Jain Bhaya was man appointed by Congress to win four seats of Baran district similar to 2008. Though, Bhaya, who resigned as PWD minister following charges of corruption, has been beaten up by Raje loyalist Prabhu Lal Saini from Baran-Atru.
Winning with a margin of 61,385 votes another Raje loyalist Pratap Singh Singhvi added Chhabra seat in the tally of BJP. Lalit Kumar Meena, an IAS-pre qualified , passed the exam of Assembly seat Kishanganj seat dominated by tribal Saharias.
The Congress also could not open its account in Jhalawar district, home of Vasundhara Raje.
Here, the BJP won all four seats. Raje once again emerged winner defeating Minakshi Chandrawat with a margin of 60,896 votes.
Bundi is only district of Hadauti where the Congress could register a single seat out of three. Ashok Chandna won Hindauli seat whereas Bundi and Keshoraipatan seats won by Ashok Dogra and Babu Lal Verma respectively.
Hadauti region remained a strong bastion of the RSS. Though, in 2008 the Congress gave major daunt to BJP in 2008 securing 10 out of 17 seats. It appears the BJP regained its paradise lost.
