Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said that the famous 'Modi wave' of 2014 has only gotten stronger and the BJP would cross 300 seats on its own in 2019 General elections.

Speaking at Zee Media's India ka DNA Conclave 2019, the Human Resource Development Minister said, "I think Modi wave has only gotten stronger. Now people know what Modi can do and what changes he has brought in last 4 years."

We will cross 300 seats in 2019 on our own and along with other NDA allies, the number of seats would only go up, Javadekar said. "The people of India are with us as we have worked, there are no charges of corruption on our ministers. We have made governance transparent. There is development all over, crores of people have benefitted."

Asked if Muslims will vote for the BJP in next Lok Sabha elections, Javadekar said, "Modi has performed a miracle that there is no more voting on religious and caste lines. People don't vote for money and only vote for development."

When reminded that the BJP is losing partners, the minister said that his party respects its allies and even Shiv Sena still remains in the government.

Speaking of talks of a united anti-BJP alliance, Javadekar said, "An alliance must have a common goal. In the past, alliance was formed for a purpose but this 'mahagathbandhan' has only purpose to defeat Modi while the Prime Minister is trying to defeat poverty. We will get sympathy from people as they know that Modi is doing good work."

"How can they remain united? A Chief Minister who was on strike was exposed by IAS officers. The Chief Minister did not even get support from all parties in Delhi. The Congress did not support him," he said.

Weighing in on recently-concluded Karnataka Assembly elections, he said that BJP was not defeated by the Congress or the JD(S).

"It would have been different if JD(S) and Congress were in an alliance. BJP has not been defeated in Karnataka. Two losing parties have come together to form a government," Javadekar said.

When asked about the reason to end PDP-BJP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, Javadekar said, "The party took a decision in Jammu and Kashmir due to incidents in last one month in Ramzan and people have supported the move. In last 3 years we worked for the development of the region in alliance."
