Indore: Prospective partners tech connect at Parichay Sammelan

Little did Akansha Agrawal know that she would actually get a chance to interact with a Dubai-based software engineer, who had been shortlisted by her parents as her prospective partner and whose picture she had seen on social networking site Facebook.

So while her parents were talking to the boy’s family members at Agrawal Yuva Parichay Sammelan, Akansha had a conversation with him through Skype on Tuesday. For the first time, Agrasen Social Group of Indore used social networking tools such as Skype and Facetime through laptops and I Pads at the parichay sammelan to help potential partners talk with to each other despite being hundreds of miles apart .

“Many girls, most of them working, used this platform to interact with their prospective partners”, said Rajendra Gupta, branch head of Pinkcity Logistics Limited which coordinated the online part of the parichay sammelan. “ Some of the parents came up with number of options. Using Skype, we connected them with the prospective grooms who had earlier been given a fixed time for interaction,” he added.

Ankita Agrawal who has completed her M Sc and was looking for a prospective life partner used the service and chatted through the application for around five minutes. “It was a wonderful experience to have a video chat through Skype,” she said.

“There were some technical difficulties in the beginning, so we shifted to audio chat instead of video chat”, said Gupta. Purva Goyal who is presently working in a Pune-based company, also tried the e- parichay route. “ This definitely is a good platform to get in touch with the prospective partners. Talking via Skype is better than phone as it is cheap and efficient as well. I found it quite good,” said Purva.
