Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination, the benchmark test that determines the eligibility for the lecturerships across India, is likely to be held on 16 December, 2018.
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) released the notification for the 2018 Joint CSIR-JGC National Eligibility Test (NET) on its official website - csirhrdg.res.in.
The application process will commence from tomorrow, September 25 and is tentatively scheduled for December 16. The last date to apply for the CSIR-UGC NET examination is October 15.
Why is the CSIR-USG conducted?
The exam is conducted for determining the eligibility for candidates to be appointed as a lecturer in the fields of
1) Chemical Sciences
2) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
3) Life Sciences
4) Mathematical Sciences
5) Physical Sciences
The candidate will also be eligible for JREF after clearing the exam depending on scores. The interested candidates must have a degree in MSc or Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTECH/Bpharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks to be eligible. Candidates must be below 28 for JREF.
