    Passengers flying in the economy class of short-haul Air India's flights, will not be served hot food from tomorrow as the cash-strapped airlines has revised its on-board catering service policy.

    "Air India, in line with the industry practise, has revised the on-board catering service in the economy class for short duration domestic flights, which are less than 90 minutes, with effect from February 1," an Air India spokesperson said.

    For flights up to one hour duration, the service would be of pre-packed dry snacks, water and juice in tetra pack. Coffee or tea service would be served on request, he said, adding for flights upto 90 minutes duration, the service would be of boxes containing of sandwiches, brownie and water in addition to coffee or tea.

    "However, the present on-board catering service would continue for the passengers travelling in the executive class on all flights," the official said.

    But those travelling on an Air India flights, whose duration is more than 90 minutes, will be served the present hot meal.

    "The catering service would continue on board all Air India domestic flights of more than 90 minutes duration, both in economy and executive class," he said.
