A biker from Kerala died in Rajasthan desert due to dehydration after he lost his way while exploring on the road trip.

Asbak Mon, a Bengaluru-based biker who hailed from Kerala, was found dead with an empty water bottle in Shahgarh Bulj area, which is around 200 km from Jaisalmer, according to news agency IANS report.

The 34-year-old man was participating in the 'India Baja' off-road trip which started from Kerala on Saturday. He lost his way in the surrounding areas of Jaisalmer.

"When he did not return, we collaborated with police and sent our parties to search for him," an organiser of the event was quoted as saying.

A police officer said that the biker must have fallen from the bike due to thirst and tiredness and did not wake up later due to dehydration. His water bottle was found empty beside his dead body that suggested he must have been exhausted due to no intake of any liquid substance that causes dehydration.

Superintendent of Police Jagdish Chandra Sharma said that the post-mortem report confirmed that the biker died due to 'dehydration'.  His body has been handed over to his wife and father-in-law.  A case of doubtful death has been filed and investigations are underway.

Earlier in April, a 21-year-old engineering student was killed in a road accident in Karnataka while taking part in a two-wheeler ride challenge, police.

Mithun, a final year student of a local college at Pambady in this district, was riding his bike when he met with the accident near Chitradurga on the Bengaluru-Pune National Highway, police said.

He was killed on the spot after his two-wheeler rammed into a lorry going ahead of him when it's driver applied sudden brake, police in Karnataka said.

"Kerala police, quoting information provided by Mithun's family, said he had a craze for speed bike riding and was participating in the Saddle Sore challenge that required riders to cover around 1,500 km in 22 hours.
