Senior BJP leaders launched an all-out attack on Congress party President Rahul Gandhi after his speech in Lok Sabha on Friday. This was after several members of the grand opposition hailed the speech.

Following his speech, Gandhi went and hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then winked at his party members.

While speaking to reporters, BJP MP Kirron Kher said that Gandhi should be ashamed for targeting the ministers without ‘any proof’. “ He was doing drama in the house and hugging Modi ji. I think his next step will be Bollywood. We will have to send him there,” she said.

Union sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, too, was critical of Gandhi, saying that it was ironic that he was accusing the prime minister of being power hungry. “Irony dies a little when these baseless accusations come from a fourth generation dynast without any people connect who is party president simply because of his last name,” he tweeted.

Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal added, “Didn't know it would be earthquake of laughter. Rahul Gandhi enacted a scene from Munna Bhai.He failed Amitabh Bachchan in acting. He came to Punjab calling us 'nashedi' so I gestured at him asking what did he consume today,” she said.

Earlier, BJP leader Ananth Kumar accused Rahul Gandhi’s of behaving in a childish manner in parliament. “He has grown old but it is unfortunate that he has not grown up. It is unfortunate that the president of Congress is so ill-informed and immature,” he said.

Here is what others tweeted

Earlier, in his most robust attack against the PM, Gandhi said that "I can see him smiling. But there's a touch of nervousness in the gentleman & he is looking away from me. I can understand that. He cannot look into my eyes."

"Aap logon ke andar mere liye nafrat hai, aap mujhe Pappu aur bohot gaaliyan dekar bula sakte hain, lekin mere andar aapke liye nafrat nahi hai (You may hate me, call me 'Pappu' but I have no anger or hatred against PM, BJP)," Gandhi said ending the speech and he then walked across the aisle to hug PM Modi. He also went on to wink at the entire treasury benches.
