'Shaheen Bagh is a conspiracy by AAP': Union Minister Prakash Javadekar at #IndiaKaDNA Conclave

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday alleged that the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) that have been going on for over a month now, is actually a conspiracy in the national capital by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Javadekar said that the person arrested for firing near the anti-CAA protest site in Shaheen Bagh area was linked with AAP and alleged that the firing was done to provoke the people there. "Kejriwal's AAP government has been exposed in Delhi. Shaheen Bagh's firing incident is linked to the AAP government. The firing incident at Shaheen Bagh was done to provoke people there. AAP doesn't want to answer the public on the incident," said the Union Minister in conversation with Zee News' Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhury.

Delhi Police on Tuesday said it has found a link between the Kapil Baisala, arrested for firing near the anti-CAA protest site in Shaheen Bagh area, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the alleged shooter had joined the party last year.

On February 1, Baisala had fired two rounds in the air at Shaheen Bagh, where anti-CAA protests are being held for over a month now.

Javadekar then took the stage to launch a barrage of assaults against the Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi and accused the Chief Minister of availing privileges that he had earlier refused to enjoy for himself.

"Kejriwal had announced in public that he won't avail govt's car and bungalow facilities, provided to a Chief Minister. But now he is using them," said Prakash Javadekar, questioning Kejriwal's allegiance to the nation.

"Kejriwal supports 'Tukde Tukde gang and those who wanted to obstruct the Republic Day parade," Javadekar said, adding "Kejriwal questions Army's valour by raising doubt on surgical strike. People of Delhi will not tolerate this insult to the nation."

Finally, the Union Minister reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party's promises to the national capital, if it is voted to power.

"BJP has a number of schemes for the girl child in Delhi," he said, "BJP has been continuously working to reduce pollution in Delhi." The Union Minister said that the people of Delhi want "development and the discipline promoted by the Modi government". Only BJP can fulfill it, he said.

Finally, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar appeared verily confident regarding the Delhi assembly polls. "BJP will form government in Delhi with full majority," he asserted.

The conclave is set to focus on the Delhi Legislative Assembly Election 2020.

At the #IndiaKaDNA Delhi Election Conclave, viewers will witness several top politicos from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and the Aam Aadmi Party. The leaders will be participating as speakers at the event, debating and expressing their views on the upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls and talk about the vision of their respective parties for the national capital.

The event began at 10 AM and will conclude at 4 PM.

With the Delhi Assembly Polls 2020 knocking at the door, anticipation broils up among people in the national capital, their eyes on prospective Chief Ministerial candidates of the political parties locked in the electoral contest.

This year, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be locked in a triangular contest with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC), but the AAP is being considered the favourite to retain the Union Territory.

The Kejriwal-led AAP government is currently in power. The five-year term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly will end on February 22 and a new House is to be constituted before that.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP is eyeing a second consecutive term banking on freebies that it provided to Delhiites including free water, free electricity up to 200 units, free ride for women in DTC and cluster buses, among other measures.

Delhi Assembly elections will be held on February 8 while counting of votes will be conducted on February 11.
