May 16, 2008: Aarushi Talwar, 14, is found murdered in a pool of blood inside her bedroom in Noida's Jalvayu Vihar. Initially, Hemraj, the domestic help is suspected of killing the 14-year-old.

May 17, 2008: Things take dramatic turn after the body of the prime suspect Hemraj is discovered from the terrace of the flat. The door of the terrace was locked form inside.

May 18, 2008: The Uttar Pradesh Police says the job was done by an insider as Aarushi's throat was slit with clinical precision.

May 19, 2008: Former domestic help Vishnu Sharma is names as a suspect.

May 21, 2008: Delhi Police joins the investigation.

May 22, 2008: The honour killing angle comes in. The cops talk to Aarushi's friends and this is the first time that the role of parents is suspected.

May 23, 2008: A week after the teen's murder, her father Rajesh Talwar is arrested for killing his daughter.

June 1: The CBI takes over the case from the Noida police.

June 13, 2008: Krishna, the second domestic help of Talwars, is arrested.

June 26, 2008: The CBI says it is a 'blind case'.

July 12, 2008: Rajesh Talwar gets bail.

December 29, 2009: A year later, the CBI files a closure report saying that there are no sufficient evidences in the case. The domestic  helps, both former and current, are given clean chit. But the Talwars remain prime suspects.

January 25, 2011: Rajesh Talwar is attacked by an unknown man on the CBI Court premises in Ghaziabad.

February 9, 2011: Talwars face murder charges after the trial court rejects the CBI's closure report.

February 21, 2011: Talwars approach Allahabad High Court for quashing trial court summons.

March 18, 2011:The Allahabad High Court dismisses the plea.

March 19, 2011: The couple approaches the Supreme Court.

January 6, 2012: The apex court dismisses Talwar's plea and allows the trial to proceed.
