9 top cops to go Down Under for career uplift

Nine IPS officers of state are selected for phase 4 of their mid-career programme. These officers will take part in two-month long training programme, which include visit to Australia this March. Every year, Indian government organises such training programmes in phases. Earlier, in the third phase, five IPS officers of state were selected for such training programme in the United Kingdom. 

For the training programme, state government has selected nine of their IPS officers of the superintendent of police (SP) rank. These officers include Sandip Singh, Gautam Parmar, Sachin Badshah, Gagandip Gambhir, RH Mothalia, HR Muliana, SK Gadhvi, Dinesh Parmar and GL Singhal.

From February 15, all these officers will join 70 to 80 other IPS officers of different states at Indian Police Academy at Hyderabad.

During one month at the academy, these officers will be given field exposure and share their experiences with other fellow IPS officers. According to Sandip Singh, DCP of zone 1, the training module include self improvement and other aspects related to crime. "We will share our knowledge and experience regarding man power issues, advance crime techniques, national security and terrorism" said Singh after being selected.

After taking part in seminars and exams after one month of training at academy, all officers will leave for Australia, where they will interact with Australian police. They will stay at capital Canberra, and attend sessions with police officers of Canberra, to acquire new skills and knowledge from them. They will also share their own knowledge and techniques with Australian police.
