PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had to beat a hasty retreat as she faced an agitated crowd in Rafiabad of North Kashmir today when she went to the house of the three youths suspected to have been killed in a fake encounter by Army personnel.
Mehbooba's condolence meeting had to be cut short after people present there starterd shouting anti-PDP slogans saying fake encounters and custodial killings took place during the PDP regime as well.
Noticing the rising tempers, Mufti, who was accompanied by a former minister Dilawar Mir, left the place immediately.
A Major and his team have been accused of entering into a criminal conspiracy to abduct three youths, who were later killed in an alleged fake encounter, in a probe report by Jammu and Kashmir Police handed over to the Army. A high-level inquiry into the case was ordered today in the matter.
