Munnabhai’s friend wants to open a film city in Gujarat

Filmstar Sanjay Dutt paid a surprise visit to chief minister Narendra Modi's office on Monday with his NRG friend Paresh Ghelani, CEO of 2020 Company, who wants to set up a world class film city a la MGM and Universal in Gujarat.

Ghelani made a presentation before the CM for the world class film city. Munnabhai and his friend spent around 50 minutes with the chief minister and described in detail their plan to set the film city. After the meeting, Dutt told the media persons, "I came to meet Modiji with a proposal to start a high-tech film city like Universal and MGM studio, in Gujarat. My family friend Paresh Ghelani, who is a Gujarati and based in Chicago, wants to establish a film city in Gujarat. Modiji's response was quite positive. He has suggested establishing the studio in Kutch.''

Dutt also showed interest and sought details about the riverfront project, Gift City, Dholera Special Investment Regions, Kalpasar Project, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridors and many other ambitious development projects in the state.

He admired Modi's vision and leadership acumen, observing that under his leadership the state has made tremendous progress.
Speaking about his ambitious film city project, Ghelani said, "We are planning to invest around Rs1,000 crore in this high-tech studio. We are exploring some other locations for the film studio along with Kutch. We have got very warm response from the CM.''
Ghelani who is from Maninagar area of Ahmedabad was born in Ahmedabad but grew up in the US. He is a co-founder of 2020 Company. Ghelani is responsible for the strategic direction and financial strength of the company.
