Hundreds of exiled Tibetans today took out a peace march in Shillong to 'reinforce their commitment to the Tibetan freedom struggle'.

Marking the 51st Tibetan National Uprising Day, the Tibetans, under the banner of the regional Tibetan Youth Congress, marched from the Tibetan Monastery in Upper Lumparing to Jhalupara carrying posters and placards pledging support to the 'freedom struggle'.

"Another year has passed by without any significant development in the Tibetan freedom struggle," president of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress Shelok Tsering said.

He said the march was being organized to persuade and reinforce the commitment to the Tibetan freedom struggle in a peaceful way and to engender meaningful dialogue with the Chinese authorities.
