Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is under house arrest, today said anger against India is growing among people in Jammu and Kashmir because the government is not taking "serious note" of the "explosive situation" in the state.
"Indian rulers are blinded by its military might and do not take serious note of the explosive situation prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir because of which anger is growing among Kashmiris against India", the separatist leader said in a statement in Srinagar.
"Anger of Kashmiris is increasing on this account and before the anger breaks into a volcano, they (Centre) should accept the ground realities and change their policy of rigidity", Geelani, who was put under house arrest yesterday ahead of a march to protest the killing of a youth in a clash with security personnel, said.
He said in view of today's strike and sensing the mood of the people, "Delhi wallas should understand that they cannot
cow down Kashmiris with oppressive tactics. Till the last Indian force personnel is in Kashmir, struggle for freedom will continue".
Thanking people for observing complete hartal today, he criticised the government for foiling the march to Saidakadal and placing under house arrest Hurriyat leaders.
